砂上の楼閣 vs 伯 特 利

I received a very meaningful passage this morning:

Let's share with you all the story of my favorite character in the bible - the bad guy - Jacob.......

Genesis 28:10-19

雅 各 出 了 別 是 巴 向 哈 蘭 走 去 。 到 了 一 個 地 方 、 因 為 太 陽 落 了 、 就 在 那 裡 住 宿 . 便 拾 起 那 地 方 的 一 塊 石 頭 、 枕 在 頭 下 、 在 那 裡 躺 臥 睡 了 。
夢 見 一 個 梯 子 立 在 地 上 、 梯 子 的 頭 頂 著 天 、 有 神 的 使 者 在 梯 子 上 、 上 去 下 來 。
耶 和 華 站 在 梯 子 以 上 、 〔 或 作 站 在 他 旁 邊 〕 說 、 我 是 耶 和 華 你 祖 亞 伯 拉 罕 的 神 、 也 是 以 撒 的 神 、 我 要 將 你 現 在 所 躺 臥 之 地 賜 給 你 、 和 你 的 後 裔
你 的 後 裔 必 像 地 上 的 塵 沙 那 樣 多 、 必 向 東 西 南 北 開 展 . 地 上 萬 族 必 因 你 和 你 的 後 裔 得 福 .

我 也 與 你 同 在 (that means a lot to Jacob - Jacob was totally on his own....) 、 你 無 論 往 那 裡 去 、 我 必 保 佑 你 (again, that means a lot to Jacob - that was when Jacob's life is in great danger - his brother may go and get him at any moment)、 領 你 歸 回 這 地 、 總 不 離 棄 你 、 直 到 我 成 全 了 向 你 所 應 許 的 。

雅 各 睡 醒 了 、 說 、 耶 和 華 真 在 這 裡 、 我 竟 不 知 道 。 就 懼 怕 說 、 這 地 方 何 等 可 畏 、 這 不 是 別 的 、 乃 是 神 的 殿 、 也 是 天 的 門 。 雅 各 清 早 起 來 、 把 所 枕 的 石 頭 立 作 柱 子 、 澆 油 在 上 面 。

他 就 給 那 地 方 起 名 、 叫 伯 特 利 . 〔 就 是 神 殿 的 意 思 〕

I believe there are points in our life that we are forced to be away from our "comfort zone", and we would reach a point when we either "信心開始動搖,愛心開始冷淡 or 盼望開始下沉"! - and very often we even stop praying as we lost faith in God.

God is so good that HE always set a 伯 特 利 for all of us - the experience when God graped our hands, and say - 我 也 與 你 同 在 - 直 到 我 成 全 了 向 你 所 應 許 的 。

I am sure everyone has their own 伯 特 利 in their life..... Let us always have faith in God!!!!!!!!

ゼロの示す未来 - Human vs Computer

When I had dinner with my friends a few days ago, someone mentioned Sudoku, and the first thought came up in my mind was - with the computers we have these days, we can easily write a program to get the answers for us in a split second!

In the Gundam Wing series, there is an ultimate computer system called the "Zero System". It is so powerful that it can even show the pilots their own future.

This is really not a new phenomena after all - that is where the idea of "Matrix" stews from - computers can actually become so powerful that they can do virtually everything in a much more efficient way, especially in doing analysis and making decisions.

This has already been proven in real life a few years ago - when "Deep Blue" beat Kasparov (the world champion of Chess) in year 1997.

Then the question is - why human?

This reminds me of a movie I had seen back in 6 years ago.

In the movie, the 女主角 was kidnapped, and in order to save her, the 男主角 needed to win a game of chess - with the 女主角 being the Queen and himself being the King on the huge chess board - which means - he will be smashed if he got checkmated.

Towards the end of the game, the computer made a bad move trying to take the "Queen" - which gives him the chance to take the game in the next move.

What the 男主角 did was - he put himself in front of the "Queen". The computer was so surprised by the move that it actually gone into "errors"!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Isn't that what Jesus did for us 2000 years ago?!?!?!

What is special about us, is God gives human beings the ability to LOVE.

As usual, the answer has always been in the bible:

愛 是 永 不 止 息 ．

A man may make designs for his way, but the Lord is the guide of his steps.

It actually took me a few days to decide what I should write about as my first official sharing - I am the sort of person who makes decision only after having a series of calculation and analysis.

Then this verse from the bible came up - why is it taking me so long just to make a decision on the topic - there are too many "plans" in my heart!

What could be better than sharing my favorite verse? ( ^u^ )

I used to think that I can secure everything in my life with my own hands - by achieving my pre-set goals one by one.

In Chinese, we love to say people who are able to make the right choices are people with 好眼光. I used to believe I can path my own way - I can always make the right decision and choices after all the analysis.

It will probably take another 100 pages to write down what happened in the last 10 years - I rather jump straight to my conclusion:

主 耶 和 華 以 色 列 的 聖 者 曾 如 此 說 、 你 們 得 救 在 乎 歸 回 安 息 ． 你 們 得 力 在 乎 平 靜 安 穩 ． 你 們 竟 自 不 肯 ．

The answer has always been in the bible.......

First sharing

When I sent the link to one of my best friend in UK, he asked me "hahaha..
is this because you're too lazy to write everyone a proper email?"

Haha, yes, I guess it is very difficult to write everyone a e-mail these days......

and personally I would like to record things I learn in Bible and all the memorable moments somewhere...... and I know I can never pick up a pen and do it........

Or put it this way..... I have never been a hard-working person..... especially in notes taking.....

I hope this Blog can be the treasure box keeping all the graces I received from God! And to share with you - the people I treasure!
